Is there knowledge adoption of innovations from emerging economies? We theorize that to help overcome information asymmetry across countries, the granting of patent to technology in the emerging economy of China can serve as a signal of technology potential and market opportunity to enhance technological knowledge adoption in the developed economy of U.S. The effect may be greater in complex technology sector with higher information asymmetry than discrete technology sector; and in regions with less developed market intermediaries where information asymmetry is higher. Our difference-in-differences estimates using 4,226 China-U.S. patent dyads and comparable U.S. patents provide support for our hypotheses. 

學(xué)者簡(jiǎn)介：李家濤教授是國(guó)際商業(yè)戰(zhàn)略的權(quán)威專(zhuān)家，致力于推進(jìn)新興國(guó)家的企業(yè)戰(zhàn)略研究。他目前擔(dān)任國(guó)際商務(wù)頂尖期刊 Journal of International Business Studies (JIBS)副主編 (2016- ),并于2009-2016期間擔(dān)任戰(zhàn)略管理頂尖期刊 Strategic Management Journal(SMJ)的副主編 (全球首位華人學(xué)者擔(dān)任此職務(wù))，同時(shí)擔(dān)任Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Management, Global Strategy Journal,等國(guó)際頂級(jí)管理學(xué)期刊編委會(huì)委員。

現(xiàn)任香港科技大學(xué)(科大)商學(xué)院利國(guó)偉商學(xué)講席教授,管理學(xué)系講座教授、科大商學(xué)院商業(yè)戰(zhàn)略與創(chuàng)新研究中心主任,科大高等研究院 (IAS) 資深學(xué)人,美國(guó)國(guó)際商務(wù)學(xué)會(huì)(Academy of International Business， 縮寫(xiě)為 AIB)院士,美國(guó)國(guó)際商務(wù)學(xué)會(huì)(AIB)副主席(2016-2019), 美國(guó)國(guó)際商務(wù)學(xué)會(huì)(AIB)2018 年會(huì)主席。

研究領(lǐng)域包括組織學(xué)習(xí)、戰(zhàn)略聯(lián)盟、公司治理、創(chuàng)新和創(chuàng)業(yè)。研究成果經(jīng)常發(fā)表在AMJ，AMR，OS，SMJ，JIBS，和JOM等管理學(xué)頂級(jí)學(xué)術(shù)期刊，更有不少獲得最佳論文獎(jiǎng)項(xiàng)。
